NO WAY would I leave my Spouse for that reason. Shame on the ones who do! If you want to join the Air Force ,your Spouse should support you.

What kind of a self-serving idiot would do that? That's totally wrong! Just because you're apart for a while doesn't mean that it warrants a divorce. Believe me. My best friend in in the AF and stationed on the coast for training. He just got married 6/3 and left to go back to the coast (w/o his wife) the next night. They'll be apart until late August when he gets out of training and gets restationed. Plus, my husband is about to go back out on the road as a truck driver so we can get out of debt. He'll be gone for weeks at a time but its worth it to be able to live without creditors calling day and night.

If you were married and your spouse won a million dollars and left to another country, would you leave him/her? So just leaving because he or she left??

I guess it would depend if one really wants to be with the spouse or not, regardless of where they are.

What could you possibly be thinking to even ask that question? Did you know he/she was in the forces BEFORE you married. Or was it just that you thought it would never be the case where they were called to duty? C'mon dude! I wouldn't leave anyone for fighting for what they believed in....This is the 'new world'. Love is love...be it here or on the other side of the world..Stop yourself from the poor poor pitiful me syndrome...Support don't abandon!

Did you two decided this as a joint one? If not, then it explain your question. No. Marriage is about joint decision-making, give and take, and compromise. If this was not what you bargained for, then you may want to discuss this with your spouse.

My BF was in the Navy but working with Marines in Iraq as a medical corpsman. So to answer your question No....He's not my husband yet but I have stuck by his side. The last thing people in the service need is to be dumped when they need them most.

Of course not! It sounds like a good excuse to get out of a lousy marriage. Work on the marriage. If it's a good one, a separation won't hurt it.

wow....the person that left something b/c they were in the Air Force has to be the meanest and most selfish person in the world.

You should be proud that you are married to someone who is brave enough to serve.
