You can tour the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. There are some awesome museums and amusement parks in Denver, which isn't too far off. There's a Six Flags and a water park. I love The Spaghetti Factory and Casa Bonita restaurants. Casa Bonita has some cool entertainment for families with people jumping off of cliffs into water and puppet shows and stuff.
If you're into nature, check out the Garden of the Gods. There are some awesome rock formations there and there are some easy, paved paths to walk on. I also love the Rocky Mountains, which will take a bit of a drive (probably 2-3 hours), but Rocky Mountain National Park has some beautiful scenic drives (try Fall River Road for one) and great hiking for all fitness/skill levels. Dinosaur Ridge has a tour with some dinosaur footprints. You can also go rafting down just about any big river. The water looks fantastic right now!
Some of the best stuff is a bit of a drive from Colorado Springs, but it's well worth it if you have the time.

Garden of the Gods, Red Rocks, white water rafting, drive up to Pike's Peak, hiking in the mountains, mountain bike riding, catch a baseball game. Go to Michelle's, it's an ice cream shop where they make the BEST ice cream and hand made chocolate. Go to Manitou Springs. Woodland Park. Seven Falls. Helen Hunt Falls. Rainbow Falls for trout fishing. Drive the back road up Phantom Canyon to Cripple Creek. Go to the Broadmore Hotel for brunch. Go to Red Top restaurant for the wonderful hamburgers. Tour the Air Force Academy. So many cool things to do.
