My brother is trying to look for a retail store that pays excellent and is in Brooklyn. He says he wants to work at Sears but I said no, work at Borders. Which retail store pays excellent and and lets you work flexable hours?

I don't think any stores in particular are known for paying much better than the competition. His best bet is to get a job as a sales associate that pays commission - that type of job is higher paying than average retail sales floor jobs. I don't think that Borders employees are on commission. At Sears they may be, for appliances, but I'm not positive.

Otherwise, he's looking at $9 an hour, tops. As long as he's good at selling and the store itself is doing well, he has the potential of earning a salary higher than most other non-supervisory retail jobs. I have some commission employees who earn, on average, $15+/hour, and even a couple who average $18+/hour.
