it's totally fine to mix the two food I would suggest using the rabbit food all the time rather then the guinea ppig food becuase rabbits diets are a lot more strict than guinea pigs that's what we use at our pet store anyway. Good luck

Rabbit pellets seem to have more protein in them as well. Otherwise it's the same stuff.

Apparently rabbits carry some sort of bacteria that can be lethal to guinea pigs. Your guys should be okay if you really watch cleanliness, diet and give them the extra room. Also watch that the rabbit doesn't beat up on your piggy. A good kick from a rabbit can break a pig's leg. I've heard of many success stories so oif they have the room to avoid each other and have separate bowls they should be okay.

Good luck!

I have fed my guinea pigs rabbit food and hey don't get sick but that was when my supplier was out of GP food. They need the esxtra vitamins and calcium but in a pinch you CAN feed them rabbit food without worry.

Ah you better check with a vet or something to make sure they can be together. And it better be a HUGE cage. Guinea Pigs and bunnies need a lot of room. But I don't think there is much of a difference between the food. But they are different.

I have had piggies die due to a type of vitamin that is in rabbit food. Rabbits need this.... but to pigs, it is poison. I found this out after I was told by a vet that it was OK. My loss was 3 dead baby piggies. How sad is that?

well everything above is completely useless. they only difference is that rabbit food pellets are often bigger in size. guinea pigs just have a harder time eating them. they keep their teeth in shape though.
