I wonder why people ask the question about age so much.

I think as long as everyone is the relationship is legal there shouldn't be an issue.

What do you think?

many care because many ppl in society do as well. its "only right" to go with the flow. some feel that the big age difference is sometimes wrong because sometimes, one in the relationship can be old enough to be the other's mom or dad, or possibly granny/grampy, which is a rather scary thought. in my opinion, its ok, as long as the 2 in the relationship is fine with it & as u said, at a legal age

People are hooked on age because age generally shows a person's stage in life, his/her development be it physical, emotional, social, career, spiritual, etc.

For a relationship to work, couples must meet or complement each other on those aspects. Some people may be older or younger than their age so some relationship with big age gaps do work. But GENERALLY, maturity comes with age, experience comes with age, wisdom comes with age. That's why people bother too much on age.

I was married to a woman that was 12 years younger. We had many problems. I was pretty much set in my ways with a good job and lots of people depend on me. I am not trying to down on her but she wanted her dope, her wild friends and was a lot more actave then me. I don't want the dope (out grew it ) don't want wild freinds (out grew that to) and I'm ready to build a home not spend all my money on running everywhere in town all the time.

So yup there is a dif. Stay within 5 years plus or minus.

I get this with friendship.

I am age 54, and I have a LOT of friends. Many are as young as 11, and many are as young as 85.

When I talk to the younger people, such as age 11, their friends say "why are you talking to him?" Because "he is my friend." They look shocked.

When I talk to the older people, such as 85, other people ask me why am I talking to them?" I say because she is "my friend."
They reply; "kind-of old for you?"

I did not know age decided who you are friends with.

I agree.
You can be friends with whoever you want, date whoever you want as long as you're both over the age of consent, and so on! It's all good!

i totally agree. my grandmother and grandfather were about 19 years apart and they loved eachother till he died. i dont agree with an over 20 years apart difference. especially if the younger "spouse" is in their 20s.
