Just a little one, but how much is it gonna hurt? When can I wear close-toed shoes after? Is it safe to apply my coconut foot cream that same night?

Yes it will hurt because it is right on the bone. a tattoo is more of a rubbing than a pricking, it feels like someone is rubbing a knife over the skin many many times, being over the bone it'll be more intense. I wouldnt wear closed toed shoes for a few days after. you dont really want to irritate it. if it gets scratched or something the tattoo will be messed up and you will have to pay for the touch up, but you'll have to wait a few months. if you dont the skin will come off... they SHOULD supply you with a vitamin enriched cream to put on the tat but neosporin works well if they dont. you have to apply this for 1 week and after that you can use a normal cream.. Another reason why you should wear sandals or something is because you need to be applying the cream several times a day and need to keep it protected and moisturized.

Okay, you know how women get little hairs on the tops of their big toes but don't want anyone to know about it so they shave it off? I got sick of shaving it because I'd get little ingrown hairs that itched and hurt. So I decided to pluck it instead.

OH.........MY.......GOSH!!!

It hurt so bad that it literally made me cry. Seriously, the first (and only) one I plucked was probably one of the most acutely painful things I've ever experienced, even over broken bones, if you can believe that. (Well, maybe not that bad...but I didn't cry when I broke my ankle or toes or fingers or got a cracked skull.) I'm thinking a tattoo on the big toe would be something akin to plucking.

Talk to your tattoo artist about when it would be safe to wear close-toed shoes and when to apply cream or lotion. I suspect it will be a couple of days, if it's just a small tattoo. I have a small tattoo on my hip that took about 3 days to completely heal.

P.S. ddy'sgrl77 - I'm so sorry for your loss. It's obvious you love your father very much. : (

Beware, A tattoo on that part of you body or anypart of your foot is very hard to heal and easy to be infected. No, you can not wear closed toed shoes during the healing process. And I would stay away from the coconut foot cream for awhile stick with whatever cream that is they suggest. And keep it CLEAN!

Toe tattoos are notorious for not holding up well... make sure your tat artist knows what they are doing. Why the toe?
Anyway.... it's gonna hurt... ever stub your toe? Multiply that by a bee sting... well, several bee stings.
You can't wear a tight shoe until it's healed, or you will just prolong the process and risk a funky tat. No coconut cream on the area. Use the cream or ointment your tat artist reccomends.

Istoch... If she's not bleeding blood, what will she bleed??

Feet are pretty sensitive. Since they have alot of bone, I can t imagine what the tattoo is going to be ,being the toe is a small area.
When I got my tattoos ,I usually used vaseline, about three times a day for a week . The toe will be wrapped in plastic wrap to keep the colors from bleeding out . No, you won't bleed blood, if it's done right

BE SURE the person is doing the tattoo is state licensed and professional... Those basement jobs are very dangerous.

Owww! Tattoos on the bone always hurt. However, if it's just a small one, you should be able to brave through it. They'll tell you to get some A&D Ointment to put over the tattoo for a couple days, to seal it while it's healing. You should be able to wear close-toed shoes right away though, and it probably won't bother it. It usually stops hurting as soon as the needle goes away!

Tattoos aren't deadly as long as you go to a reputable parlor to have it done. I hate stupid people....
As for the other...it's going to hurt pretty bad because of the location. You will probably be able to wear closed toe shoes in a day or so. You should be able to apply foot cream that night, just avoid the tattoo...

Itll hurt a lil never had a tatoo but have a BF who has two!!! She loves hers. I think the lady bugs on the bug toes are cute. And I think thats a cute place for a tatoo. Lots of lotion I do know that is a plus! My friend wore pants over the tatoo that same day I would have thought that would be excrutiating..Hope this helps!

I have a tattoo on my toe, its been there for 13years. I think that you should really think about it before you do it because the tattoo will fade. This happens because the tattoo will be rubbed every time you were shoes!

You have to wait about a month before you wear closed-toe shoes
