I need info to find someone who may have been in an accident. Where do i look?

My friends boyfriend and his buddies went offshore fishing in Tampa, Fl this weekend. No ones heard from them in 3 days. Where can we look, who do we call? Please help me help my friend. All we know was they were going somewhere in the Tampa area.

How long were they planning to be gone?
Who did they tell about their plans (family, etc)

Check with the family if you can. If they have been gone longer than planned, then a missing person report whould be made.

Check with the coast guard and police departments, they can at least tell you if they know of any accidents or mishaps. Hospitals generally will not give out any information because of privacy act.

You need to coordinate with the families and/or whoever it is that knows the most about where they were headed, name of boat, etc. It is the family that will get furthest with the police and other agencies.

First, I would not panick. Bad news travel faster than the speed of lightning. Trust me.
However look up for the phone number on the coast guard for the area your friend's boyfriend was to be at. contact the local police only if you really think you have a reason to be concerned.

If he was to call back the next night lets say, and he hasnt as you said in 3 days ok maybe that is a reason to find out if he is ok. so call up the coast guard and police and ask where else you should call to find out of the local people who may have seen or know the whereabouts of yr friends'friend.

Make sure you are n ot doing this with anotehr underlying negative reason for the action to take place.
