well its a matter of oppion, i am cajun and well i have met numerous people that have lived in France. it is a difference in oppion, for we all speak a different dialect of french. My frends from France view themselves as real French people, and when i speak french to them with my cajun dialect they think i am speaking a slang form of French. When my Quebecois frends spokeFrench to them it was like the Quebecois friends had something to prove, like they where just as good, i didnt care either way. but there was something there that created friction between them, i wish i knew, but we are who we believe we are, and french is french. is not trailer park english still english, and the politicaly correct english speaking still english?

It is a derivative of the Parisian French but not the same. As people move from place to place the language gets changed to the environment of the people. When the French moved to Quebec in the 1600's there were already people there - Native Americans. I'm sure their language has accommodated some of that along with the Irish that settled there also in the late 1700's early 1800's.
A good example of language accommodating to the surroundings and people is South Africa. South Africa started out as a Dutch colony and the language Afrikaans is a mix of Dutch, English, German & Swahili.
Languages evolve to meet the needs of the culture.

True. They are in fact from a different geneological branch. Quebecois are from Normandy and Brittany and are the Celtic family like Scots. So they fit in in Canada in that way. Yes a different variant of the language and yes like a different country when travelling between Ontario and Quebec. But I still think they should stay in Canada and not follow the communist Parti Quebequois out of Canada. We don't need another communist nation to get suckered into it.

I agree. However, they're also not Canadian, imo. They are apart from either. They just live within Canada and speak French. It's almost a different country.
