should I just join choir, or should i start the clarinet???

Because you put the "just" in front of the choir I think you are leaning in the clarinet direction. Go with it.

The specific music training is harder. You have to play the specific notes where you can hide in a choir. Only the one next to you knows when you are wrong.
Singing is easier after you play any musical instrument.
