because it is easily grown at peoples homes and readily available. if there is no major profit top be made by a few old guys who have never seen or picked up a shovel in thier lives, then they see no point in it and keep it illegal so that revenue can be generated by jailing those who sell it.

Because it can be grown which means that it won't make uncle sam much money because people will grow instead of buying.
Plus you take money away from big business which buys off politicians. People are more likely to spark up a hooter than drink a Budweiser. People will switch over to the green bud and not the tin can bud.
Also organized crime which once again buys off politicians make sure it's illegal. If it wasn't there's millions of bucks lost on the black market.
Pot helps people with glaucoma and helps in aiding those who have had cancer treatment. So that means more money taken from doctors and pharmaceutical companies.
And pot doesn't kill, but the alcohol you drink does. The moron who says it kills better have been talking about brain cells (theres still some debate about that) rather than lives. If she was than she's dumber than the west end of an east bound horse.

Just take a look at your adminstration! Never gonna happen with them there.
I think marijuana should be legal. Why?
1. It's legal in the Netherlands, and that country seems to be fine.
2. It's a big business.
3. Studies have shown that alcohol leads to more violent crimes than marijuana.
4. Plus, it's just fun! ;D

Because it is dangerous. And second, why would you want some doped up person making your food, building your house, creating you medicines, working a computer station at NASA, or driving down the road? Or would you like to hear this next time you get on a plane to fly? "Uh,(inhaling), we'll be, hahahahahaha, taking off in a few moments people.(inhales.)Hysterical laughter."
I'd be off the plane in a heartbeat. It's common sense people. And if we legalize marijuana, we'd have to legalize just about every other kind of drug.

What, and take the money away from the corrupt. You must be joking. Imagine how much money the pharmicutical companies would lose to all the things maryjane could treat.
I still think that MJ should not be used recreationaly although many years ago I smoked. Also we should legalize it and use the money to combat the real "destroying" drugs like meth and coke.

Because there is no reason to legalize it, and plenty of reasons not to do so.
It is a drug. It can harm people.
It isn't like Industrial Hemp that has no real reason to keep illegal.
