Good question! There is no center of the universe. The universe is not expanding from some center, but rather, from itself everywhere. Basically, the space between objects is expanding. The universe is thought to be infinite in space though not in time.
As for someone's previous idea about how galaxies are moving, there are groups of galaxies that interact with each other gravitationally, held together the same way that the solar system is held together. It is thought that many of the galaxies we see today are the result of colliding galaxies and interacting galaxies form star forming regions. However, aside from galaxies that start out close enough to have these sorts of gravitational interactions (look up M51 and NGC 5195 for a beautiful example), galaxies and clusters of galaxies are moving away from each other, or rather, the space between them is growing larger. Scientists don't yet really understand why this is happening, though it is attributed to dark energy, a mysterious substance that comprises approximately 70% of the universe and supposedly has a negative pressure density, whatever that means.
Also, cosmologists have close to ruled out the idea that the universe will ever collapse back in on itself, in response to someone else's statement about the Big Bang. The evidence suggests otherwise (if you're really interested, it has to do with the baryon-to-photon ratio of the universe) and right now it's a decision between whether we will end up in a coasting universe, one whose accelerated expansion slows down infinitely approaching a constant rate, or whether the universe will continue expanding at an accelerated rate.

The center of the universe refers to where the Big Bang occured. All matter in the universe is moving away from this point. While the universe is limitless, there is not matter in an infinite distance, only space. Eventually it is assumed that once the forward momentum from the Big Bang ceases, the universe will collapse back into the center of the universe waiting for another Big Bang.

There is no center of the universe. It is equally valid to speak of any point in the universe as being the center. Including you! :) So you can say you are the center of the universe. Isn't that nice? Personally, as a human, I can not comprehend what it means to have an infinite universe the size of a single point, or whatever they say it was. But even then, most scientists agree it was infinite.

that's entirely impossible for the universe to have a center.(era) WMAP experiments point out that the universe is maximum in all hazard infinite in length. If some thing is infinite in length then there are actually not any edges. If there are actually not any edges there of course could be no center. If it finally ends up not being infinite then it must be finite yet unbounded. the floor of the Earth is likewise finite yet unbounded. the place is the middle of the floor of the Earth? not the middle of the Earth.....the middle of the floor of the Earth? there is not one. there is a lot we don't understand with regard to the universe. yet all of us understand with none doubt that there merely can't be any edges to it, or a center.

some Questions are still un-answered? but if we consider mathematics we must agree that if anything has size it'd have a center. so infact universe is endless but it has a centre. here we are not sure for where the center exactly is. but still it is. in physics when we are not sure about the size or limits we simply take the earth as a centre. here you have a nice and a big question so you may take the sun, galaxy or the mega-Galaxy

There is no center in the Universe. If you were to travel through space in a straight line you would eventually return to where you started.

Even though the scientists speak about endless universe they don't know about the center of it.

There is no center for the universe, The term universe it self contradicts it, The unknown limit is called the universe( the whole thing). we dont know how big it is?, so one cant find its center with out even knowing its limits.

Just to add to your confusion, there are now multi-verse theorem, which are inferred by the need for more than our 4 dimensions, to explain String Theory, and Quantum physics. They state that universes come in and out of existence when membranes or "branes" interact, creating a 'big bang"

mathematics and science only go so and you cant figure out everything with them Trust Me! and here is something interesting"do you know the definition of real" well you might say anything you can see but the definiton that i believe in is "something that never changes" true if you think about it and it makes you realize that the answer is god and think about this:we live on planet earth, earth is in the solar system, and that is in the galaxie, that in some and that is in something and THAT is in something and in the end the answer is everything is inside the universe and then if you ask what is that make out of and how did it start your mind kind of like stops and you cant get around this thought///////////////////// SCIENCE CAN ONLY GO SO FAR
