No. 1 - don't open them.
No. 2 - they are usually a virus or a scam selling you something.
No. 3 - no, you did not send them, they are nothing but lies.
No. 4 - delete, delete, delete.

Someone is spoofing your email address. They are pretending to be you while sending the message. You need to contact your email provider (like Yahoo!) and tell them someone is spoofing your email.

You could also have a virus using your computer to send emails to other people, so run a virus scan also.

someone else is using ytour email address to send bulk email. Cancel your email address right away and get a new one. Report it to your provider.

Your computer is likely participating in a DDoS attack, I would run spyware, and virus removers... If you are running WinXP SP2 I would suggest Windows Defender... http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=435bfce7-da2b-4a6a-afa4-f7f14e605a0d&displaylang=en

does it advertise anything? its probably just a spam bot covering up its advertisement

most of the time the subject line will read "Delivery Failure Notification" or something of that sort, if it doesnt then its probably spam
