Hi. I'm located in CT and am looking for a resuce shelter to takes iguanas. My bro in-law is moving and has 2 babys. I haven't been able to find anything in my search online - and to be honest I am not a reptile person. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If CT stands for Connecticut, then please check out the 2 websites below. They say they will take lizards, snakes, turtles, etc. (I'm from Canada, so please don't laugh that I'm not sure about the CT)

Try these:

Green Iguana Society, Adoptions and Rescues- http://www.greenigsociety.org/rescue.htm

Colorado Reptile Humane Society- http://www.corhs.org/

Last Chance Reptile Rescue- http://www.onet.net/%7Eeagle/Reptile/rescue.htm

Iguana Rescue- http://www.iguanarescue.itgo.com/

And the best place:

Here is a message board that is only about Iguanas. It's a great online community but you'll probally have to sign up for it first and ask them about any shelters and such...:)

SPCA takes reptiles. At least the ones near me do (Pennsylvania). Call and ask first, you might need to provide a cage and a little bit of food, but at least you would know it's going to go to a good home.

look up on yahoo your local "free recycle" group and post in there.. not sure of the name but im sure your area has one.... call a pet store and see if they will buy them back... not sure how much they would give you, but worth a try..

Call your local humane society. They either will take them or can direct you to someone who can. Good luck.
