this law was made for ONE man, he was called "Bucket Joe". he would walk the streets of south St.Louis, and had this bucket he would carry. you could put ANYTHING in that bucket and he would DRINK it. it was the only way the police could do something to get him off the street. if you would drive down the street and yell "Bucket Joe" he would start screaming and hitting himself in the head, the man was not right in the head.

why would you want to sit on the curb and drink beer from a bucket ? THat is open container law, public intoxication, drunk and disorderly, lottering, public indecency,depending on the hour of day public disturbance.

New Orleans is one place you can walk around with an alcoholic drink.
