Florida law forced this . The mother is still suffering from emotional stress . She was forced to give birth and 3 days later go to a funeral . It sickens me the number of pro-life with no personal involvement. If you have not been there what are your qualifications ?

that's messed up. to force her to get attached to her child and feel it move inside her (yes brainless babies still move) and then give birth and watch it die. not only that but she has to destroy her body and possibly go through post partum depression (which is not fun) i don't belive in abortion but in a case like that i would say go for it. it's not fair to anyone. the baby is dead to begin with. god would forgive her.

This is a hard question but, I think it is better to have carried, birthed, lost, and morned properly.
Than, to have the little baby taken out and carried away in a tin pan.

Technology has changed the natural order of life.
Though, I must admit; I do not know what I would do if I were her .

Was there no way for her to go to another state and ...etc

The only thing I have left to say is what does not kill us, makes us stronger.

Abortion should be allowed for medical reason, mothers in danger, or rape. Really it needs to be the mothers choice. Wouldn't it be better to let the mom abort. Then the child be born to a mother who doesn't want it. Sure there is adoption. But if they keep banding abortions. Who is going to adopt all those poor children. How are Americans going to support all of them. I think they should give women 2 months to abort. After that to bad. This is a very hard thing. Abortion makes me sad. But yet I see why they are needed.

Unfortunatly, these types of laws are alread in effect in some states and are trying to be pushed through in many others. That's just one of the many many reasons to get out and vote. More Republican victories could push these laws over the top and all over the country, people like this poor woman will have no choices. I'm sickened as well at the people who have the audacity to tell complete strangers what they should do with their own bodies, and act like God told them to do so, just because it is what they believe in. How does it even remotely affect them personally? Why can't people learn to mind their own damn business? (Think that will be my next question!!)

It seems it is the same question as my cousin faced, except the infant was nearly a week old, before it was realized that she had no higher mental function. She was expected to die soon but no one knew if that would be weeks or months, and it depended some on the care she was given.

Should my cousin's wife been been allowed to terminate the one week old child or should she have been forced to keep it?

I admit its a hard question.
I don't have all the answers.

i feel for you and your situation deeply, as i have been in a simular situation. it is a very hard thing to go through. If you are to far along in the pregnancy then an abortion ( heaven forbit) can cause you damage, that is probaly there reasoning behind it. there is lots of counsiling in genetics birth defects i suggest you take in some of them. on the plus side, you can donate the your loss, to help save another babies life, and or donate the baby to science testing, so new doctors can practise on it. it was one of the hardest things i have ever had to go through. i hope you have loving people around to help you through this very trying ordeal. i wish you the best of luck and hope that you find the answers, to the many questions it brings.

I totally agree with Rikki, that is not fair to the mother to have to carry a baby that she knows has no chance in life. I am totally against abortions, but in this case I think it is ok and God would forgive her and the baby would go to a lot better place.

this would be a hard decision being that I had a nephew who was born with spina bifida a birth defect he lived till he was 16 ,18 beautiful years of laughter tears but alot of beautiful memores memories that would not have had with my nephew if my sister would have terminated due to his birth defect. so honesty hard question to answer because this would come to my other answer he would nbot have suffered or been through so much operations it hurt me so bad to see him suffer when he was really sick.

anencephaly is a horrible outcome for a parent...In some cases it is possible to donate the organs so other babies may live...sometimes it can ease the pain and suffering for a parent to know that their child has helped others....

I myself have been there so I do know what this parent is going through..it isnt easy to have to bury a child..it is something that stays with you for the rest of your life

for me...it goes both ways....people always want to protect life, so the unborn child is being looked out for its best interest in their eyes

while on the other hand...its cruel because the woman can't connect with her child anyway...and the child will never know who its mother is...

so i don't know...its kind of both for me...
