Depends on the kind of 'dark' you're looking for. There's Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (vampire love story), Serial Experiments Lain (computer/god/serious/wtf) :P, Boogiepop Phantom (serious/dark/also wtf) XD, Blood: the Last Vampire (vampire/killing), Ghost in the Shell movies (serious/philosophical darkness), Samurai X OVAs (got everything!..except vampires), Now and Then, Here and There (more on the darkness of humanity)...gosh I guess I could go on...my definition of dark is pretty vast so you'd have to be a tad more specific for me to be really helpful. ^_^
