Facebook if you are in high school or college. It's a good way to meet people and actually know who they are because you can't fake your identity on there. You need to join by your school name and/or [college] e-mail address. Random creepy old people can't join to stalk teens or anything, unlike MySpace. Don't get me wrong, I love MySpace, but I wouldn't trust meeting anyone on there.
Go to www.thefacebook.com to see if your school is included. Not every school has Facebook and the school needs to be a "member" in order for it's students to use it. If your school doesn't have it, petition for it. It's pretty simple. My school (Albright College) got it in only 2 months of petitioning. I'm not sure how to go about getting the high school version, but contact the Facebook moderator and ask. Or see if there's a FAQ page.
