he should continue to be captain till someone better comes along or when the coach says so.

I do believe it is a personal's choice with consideration of his family. So I respect his decision to step down.

Yes. I always wondered what exactly made him the right man for the job in the first place. Most great captains have at least been long term captains at club level. Whilst at Man Utd Beckhams captain was Roy Keane and his Vice captain was Gary Neville. At Real Madrid his captain is Raul. If Beckham has never captained at club level, what made him the best man for the England captaincy. Anyway, now he's stepped down we can be captained by someone who knows what he's doing, such as John Terry, Steven Gerrard or Gary Neville, all captains of their clubs.

yep gives him more time to deal with his stick of a wife maybe get her to eat some food lol and of course all hes good for is taking free kicks he stands like a **** on the field like he's too good to be running after a ball and wont someone please give the guy a hankie lol

Gerrard should be the captain. He was the only player (from what I could see) who was talking to the bench, and trying to rev up his team-mates.
