3. divide the total miles of the trip by the miles per gallon

that gives you the total number of gallons you'll need.

now multiply the total number of gallons you'll use on the trip by the cost of a gallon of gas.

Ex. Total number of miles, 1000

Miles per gallon 10

you will need 100 gallons of gas

100 x $3.00 (per gallon) = $300.

Best way is to figure mileage from where you are to where you are going. Then what your gas mileage is on the vehicle your are taking. Divide the total miles by mpg and that will tell you aproximately how much gas it will take to get there. Then figure price of gas per gallon and multiply number of gallons by price and viola you got the cost of the trip minus goodies and meals.

The price of Fuel + Food + A spare tire... That's all i can come up at the moment. Think what would you need on a long road and don't forget to check the oil before you take off.

first u have to figure out ur car's gas mileage and how many miles ur driving and then u can calculate how much the avg gas per gallon cost and then you'll know...

From Austin? At least a Tank so about $40? And then back. So another $40? Then you got your stay and food. Geez I'd have at least $300 bucks.
