I think so.
My grandfather had a dredge, pump, and such that he would set up on the umpqua river in various places, and some other rivers too, way back. He had a small vial of gold flakes he had found over the years. I imagine there is still some to find, even though he did his from 1920-1970.

Check on the Bohemian mines southeast of Cottage Grove, which is in the southern willamette valley.
