Definate intentional stamp, to be honest I'm impressed he managed to get through the previous games without a rush of blood to his malformed brain. Prediction for Euro 2008 : England to be knocked out after a Rooney dismissal.

I thought the stamping incident was pretty shameful, and I really dislike England, but I don't think it was intentional. It was, however, very dangerous, and he should have been much more careful when he realized the guy was down and his cleated foot was in a very sensitive area. Because of that, and because he argued with the ref, and began pushing people, he deserved the red card. There would be a lot more real injuries out there if they didn't call people out for such dangerous play.

anybody who can be honest enough to tell the truth , ok I'm Scottish but i also support England ,i wanted them to win , but Rooney's temperament has to be brought up again , also all paranoid fans saying Rinaldo was out of order for going up to the referee should look at the videos of the group stages because if they think England players didn't do the same they are only kidding themselves . also if Rooney wants to watch the Ecuador game and say he didn't go up to the referee and complain after he had been kicked , well I'm seeing 2 different people ,point is this is a major part of football that no one likes ,but no one seems too worried

The ref since confirmed he was sent off for stamping on his goolies.
He ignored the fact that rooneys shirt was being pulled though.
And no matter how many angles you look at it from only Rooney knows if it was intentional.

Even Rooney with two legs cannot piroutte in mid-air,if one leg is caught in a scissor by the opposition,he had to put his foot down,to stop from falling over,or risk injury to himself, try running
for 60 mins then getting a pal to do the same manoeuvre see how you would manage

The ref; did not see the two Portuguese holding him back or should I say trying...there is alot of bad history with Rooney and the Portuguese...If it was intentional then he should of done it harder so then the red card would of meant something...European Championship 2008...are you going to watch it?

How could it have been anything but intentional, the look on his face alone showed it was intentional
It's just a case of another young footballer earning too much money, too quickly, being looked up to and being cheered, no matter what he did. He just started to believe his own publicity & thought he could do no wrong, no matter what he did.

what does it matter, were out and thats that. I do feel sorry for the England team, supporters and David Beckham who has bowed out of international football. Lets hope we can now get on with rebuilding a strong team to take to the 2010 world cup

He's a spoilt brat, and should be dropped from the England team for at least one year. Just enough time for him to grow up. To do something as silly as this after everybody was rooting for him to recover in time, is unpardonable. The English team played BETTER without him, so he is NOT indispensable.

Not me.....if you were watching it 'live' you could see that there was a lot of scrabbling for the ball going on and Shrek Rooney was just trying to 'keep his feet'...... unlike the other cheating b*stards who dropped like ninepins if anyone came anywhere NEAR them!!!!!
