Lovely work. Pencil is my favorite medium. I love the purity of it and the intensity of contrast and shading. It's beautiful in that it can be intense and soft at the same time. You have a real talent for capturing your subject. Loved your work. Beautiful.

I think pencil as medium is great. The intensity, as you say, as well as the accuracy and precision. I also admire you & all other artists who work in pencil. I think it's the most difficult medium to work in, even more so than water color.

First, your work is beautiful, you definately have mastered rendering with pencil. For years I worked in pencil exclusively, many many portraits, I love drawing people. There is just something about building layers of graphite onto paper, slow and steady, taking you awayyyyyyy. I have moved into acrylics on canvas in recent years and haven't quite mastered that medium but am getting closer, there are those who say I have, but I don't feel like I have as I did with pencil. Pencil, in my eyes is a highly respected medium, like black and white photography, it is a class act.

Pencil is definitely considered a medium. If it weren't I don't know what I would do.

well me i'm a charcaol,pencil and pastel artist,pencil medium,i think of it as a nice moderate color for arts cause it so simple and so calm
