I liked the new movie... But I still wish they had stuck to the original plan of a new Superman movie.
Back in 95 or so when they killed off Superman it became known a couple years later that they were thinking of "Superman: Doomsday"
Time Magazine even did a article saying that after Nicholas Cage did "Con Air" the people behind the plan for Doomsday thought he would look good as the resurected superman (at least).
All though this seemed to stay the plan for a few years, the casting changed, and i hear they ran into problems trying to make a movie that was so huge a story line.
It was so big in fact, that to make the funeral scene, the casting call was going out to everyone in hollywood. Everyone famous was gonna play a superhero. Michael Keaton even confirmed he was goign to play batman for it.
For some reason this all didnt work out and they came up with Superman Returns.

Awesome movie and yes am a fan of smallville as well. I have all of the seasons on dvd to date and will get the fifth when it comes out in september. And will also be buying Superman Returns on dvd along with the other four.

Not much. Great special effects...no story. He can barely save an airplane but yet can lift an entire continent full of kryptonite into outerspace. Makes no sense to me. Kent, Superman, and Luthor all show up on the same day. Hmmmm. Noone at the Daily Planet wonders about that? Kent and superman, both gone for five years, leave together, both show up back together. Hmmmm.....we're the number one paper in metropolis but we're all idiots.

My counterparts have all been cool...
i still think Tom Weller should have done the new movie...
Although the new guy seems to do a good enough impression of me!

i went to this movie with an open mind to accompany someone else. imo...it could have had more action and just could have filled in some parts of the movie...it was lacking in depth to me. it could have been a lot better....i give it a 6.5 out of 10
