I don't think so. He's still struggling from week to week. I don't think he's got a smooth team machine rolling yet.

Being a long time Earnhardt family fan I am surprised that so many Dale Jr. fans have so little faith. You all need to remember consistency wins championships not wins alone. Ryan Newman won 8 races in 2004 but no championship. Jr. has been in the top 10 most all of the races so far. he is third in points. He will make the chase. He will have the same 1 in 10 chance as everybody else. With the chase format a few people have bad days and its anybody championship to take. Don't count him out. He just surprise you all!!!

As a avid DEI fan and Dale Jr. fan I can only say, " I hope the hell so !!" Last year we went thru some sucky stuff. Changes are not always the best, as was shown last season!
In 2005 we should have had the win and the title!! Because of a slip of the lip, and saying *that don't mean S*!# my daddy won 7 times" and being fined 25 points....25POINTS that would have given us the edge and the win if you go back and look how many points he was behind!!
He is a champion in his own right, he is his own man. Fathers son, yes, but does his OWN driving...not living up to a ledgend but becoming one himself. Doing what he loves and does best right now.....races the # 8!!!
So in closing.....yeah, I think Dale Jr will win this season and be champ....because of what he does best and who he is ...NOT because he is *lucky* or *in the right place at the right time*...Luck don't enter into NASCAR and racing....if you think that....you ain't a darn fan...!!

How do I put this nicely?? UHH NO! First, let me start by saying that JR is doing much better this year. He is runnig better than ever before, and he finally has some ambition to do well behind the wheel. With that being said he's not there yet. He's done decent, but hasn't done anything overly fantabulous or outstanding this year. It's been pure luck that has kept him as high in the standings as he is. He's missed accidents, well or only been in incidents in which his car was repairable, and no mechanical failure (which is props to his team on that one), but he himself as a driver hasn't done amazing things this year. Good, sure, but not great, yet. If he does win it will come down to pure luck, and if it's anything more I will so be happy to chew on my socks and eat my words. This is my opinion, and obviously noone can predict what will really happen..,.. but generally championship winners have to do better as a driver during the season instead of just being in the right place at the right time.

The answer is NO! I love Dale Jr but he's got to get his *** in check and concentrate on the job at hand instead of the next chick that walks by or if hes the face of NASCAR or not. What he really needs right now is his daddy to hit him upside the head and knock some sense into him but since that can't happen anymore, dale jr fans just have to pray he wakes himself up!

Nope. Not this time around. I think right now Jimmie Johnson will probably end up getting it. But I'm cheering on Harvick and hope he'll emerge as the 2006 Nextel Cup champ.

I dont think so even though he is one of my favorites. It just doesn't seem like they have all the pieces in place just yet. JR finished 13th at Daytona last night which is terrible for him at a plate race and he was lucky to finish that high if not for some late crashes he would have finished much worse than that he also was never a true threat I know he led some laps but he faded quickly. Personally i dont know if DEI is up to par with some of the super teams like Roush& Hendricks. Until DEI reachs that level or Dale decides to leave for greener pastures I dont see a championship in his near future

As much as I would love for it to happen my answer is no. As far as his crew goes, they're the best ever. But until he drives like we all know he can drive there won't be a Cup victory in his future. And I don't mean takin people out but we all know he could be a helluva lot more agressive than he is and until he gets that accomplished he won't be winning...it's like he's lost some nerve over the last few years...oh well....I'm still rootin for him no matter if he's in last place...Peace out people!!!! And may Jeff Gordon's tires melt onto the tracks!!!!

He has a chance, but honestly I don't think he can pull it off this year. It'll be another year or two before he wins his first championship, but it will happen. I think he has multiple championships in his future. But Tony Stewart will win it this year. I wouldn't be apposed to Jr winning it, but I'd rather have Tony win it this year. Jr can win it next year.

I think it's too early right now to predict who will win the championship, but I'm a hopeful person...I want Junior to win it. If not, I would love to see Mark Martin to have a shot at it before he retires from racing.
