Thats just the way people are wired. Your'e raised celebrating 4th of July every year, what country do you think is the best? Think how odd it would be if people in one country thought another was the greatest.

However, it seems whenever I hear someone make the blanket statement " The USA is the greatest country in the world" its most likely they've done nothing to improve it. Usually its some ignoramus who doesnt know a damm thing.

I think it's just a pride thing. Everyone is more proud of their country, state, whatever.
I'm the same way Texas is the best .

thats ethnocentricity for you. Human nature I guess, the will to dominate others and become top dog. I guess thats actual animal nature but we ARE animals after all lol

Kind of like how we all think our religion or lack thereof is superior as well.

Its just in our nature to do so.

Its social darwinism. you can't really prevent it, especially with holidays like 4 'o July. The govenment needs nationalism to win wars and stuff, so they put out military ads, and stuff.
