YEAH!!! The Germans knew that they couldn't beat Argentina fairly, so they screwed us all the way. An example is the penalty that should have been given to Argentina when the nasty German defender took Maxi Rodriguez down in their penalty area!!! With 7min left in the game and both teams at a tie, if the germans didn't pay off the ref, then Argentina would have received a penalty and 7min later we would have won the game!!! Germany sucks %*#@

I don't believe he cheated, but I do believe he was afraid to discipline the Germans and overly enthusiastic about booking Argentine players. I remember an incident that's already been mentioned; that the German player fouled and Argentinian and it was the Argentinian who was booked for it. I also think that he was afriad to give a penalty and too quick to book for diving and my friend and I could have sworn near the end that there should have been an Argentine corner, yet it became a goal kick. And the foul on Pato Abbondanzieri went unpunished, despite it being dangerous play. So either the officials were incompetent, which should have resulted in fairly even treatment on both sides, or swayed by the force of the home nation. I heard later that even the stadium announcer broadcast over the loud speaker "Ladies and gentleman, your team needs you" which is hardly appropriate behaviour for any match, let alone one that meant so much to so many. As a final insult, he red carded Leandro Cufre for his part in the brawl that followed the shootout but did not take any action against any German player nor did he handle the situation very well in my opinion.

I would also like to add, though it has nothing to do with the referee, that Frings has been suspended for two games because he punched Julio Cruz, but that although he'll sit out the semi-final tomorrow with Italy, he will be allowed to play in the final should Germany win and he will serve the second part of his suspension after the tournament. I may be cynical, but who here believes that had Argentina won and there been the same brawl involving the same players that Leandro Cufre would have been given a suspended suspension and allowed to play the final?

of course, the referee had cheated in the game. they have really done a bad job. its really bad. Germany had got the power for that they had cheated with Argentina.

the ref is a blaoody cheat!! he was biased towards the german...and the whole world can see that. It is not suprising that host nations always gets a priviledge in the ref's book. Remember..south korea & japan the last time ... how many controvesy. USA in 94' - up to quater finals ! - are u kidding - italy in 90's go to semi's - (only to be knocked out by Maradona's argentina)...home team always gets the advantage. Just plain bad luck for Pekerboyz. But they were great!

Something is seriously wrong when a German player trips an Argentinean player and the Argentinean player gets fouled and yellow carded. I even remember seeing that one German player shove and puts his hands on one of the Argentinean players. I thought that at the beginning of the game when the 1st foul was given to Germany that it was going to be a fair ref, but I see now that it was just a weak distraction to the obvious. The ref was Bias. I think it would have made a difference should it have been fair refs. I'm still feeling the sting of a loss that should have been a victory...... 2010.....

Yes , of course, that's the problem that we will always encounter if we play against the the host country. The world cup is marred by this bias refereeing.

Argentina couldn't get a break! The freakin' officials were so obviously pro-German it made me sick. Plus, the sportscasters who were talking throughout the game acted like they were for the Germans. What the hell??!
