Most definitely, though socialism set in long ago, the authoritarian tendencies of such a system, have dramatically increased in recent years, and the government already believes itself to be supreme over the economy.

Yes. Ever since we banned child-labor, put in a minimum wage, put health and safety standards for workers-who by the way are lucky just to have a job- we've descended into socialism. It's getting so bad that a CEO can't just shoot a homeless bum in the face anymore! How outrageous is that!? Who does the government think it is, telling me I can't pay a worker 10cents an hour and then 5cents the next day? The governments job is to give me money and get out of my way. After all, it's a free market!
**P.S.-FDR was no socialist. In fact, you can thank him for saving capitalism. But you and your Faux News friends wouldn't know that because the only history you read comes from the Bible. Oh, what a great book that is!

Yes, America is taking a serious turn toward socialism and no, the government has not been intruding in business activities, it is just enacting the rules of the game.

Well, currently America is happily supporting business, and is making policy decisions based on that love fest.
The government "intruding" on business with such things as child labor laws, unions, 40-hour work week, safety standards, et al, is far from socialism.
I'd be interested in your definition of socialism.

No, we are far from it. Our president does portray some socialist, even fascist traits, but there is still a LONG way to go from democracy.
