It IS very popular in China but they call it what it is: Ping pong. The term table tennis is not as appealing, to me anyway . . . Ping pong is actually a fun sport and I am surprised now that you bring it up, that it is not more popular here.
You never see ping pong tables ANYWHERE anymore, so - more tables out there.
Get with restaurant owners, bars, places people congregate and see if they will allow a few tables to be set-up.
Have a huge tournament, you know like American Ping Pong: The search is on for the best ping-pong player in America . . . that sort of thing.
Oh yeah, ween all the kids off game-boys and cell phone games, all the lazy games they are playing, it's a shame really to see them waste away like that.

dunno. some dudes might want a built in TV. i would want a cool ping pong table with cool technology in it. like a point counter and and automatice table folder
