Ashley was never the man Scarlett imagined him to be at all. He wasn't worthy of her love and just think of all that time and energy she wasted on him. He was a wimpy coward afraid of life. Rhett was Scarlett's equal in every way.

At least Rhett had a set of b*lls, and was up to the challenge of Scarlett's antics. Ashley Wilkes was a women in disquise...definitely not a man for those days.

I like Rhett Butler. He put up with a lot of garbage from Scarlett! Ashley was just a wimp! I don't know what Scarlett saw in him!

If you've seen "Scarlett" the tv miniseries sequel to Gone With the Wind, you'd pick Rhett, definitely. Rhett is a devil, but he's really good at it. Love him.

Rhett Butler. He knows when he loves a woman, and decides to be with her. Unlike Ashley.

Butler, Ashley strung Scarlett along all that time when he knew they were never going to be together and Rhett actually loved her.

I have to go with Rhett. He was a rouge but he still loved Scarlett even when she put him through hell and ran after Ashely all the time.
