Got stuck in a typhoon and lost most of my family

This wasn't a vacation, but my father took me, my mom, my sister, one of his friends, and our grandfather on a fishing trip. Mind you this was a very hot day. Our first fishing spot was this lake with lots of prickly weeds and lots of mosquitoes. My mom stayed in the truck. I had on shorts and flip flops so when the weeds stuck me I said "ow" and my father said "Aw, come on, suck it up." This was only the beginning. About 15 minutes passed and my dad's friend was bragging about how he caught a fish and the rest of us hadn't caught anything. I was getting bored and angry so we decided to go to a different spot. By the time we got back to the truck, there were dead mosquitoes all over the windshield and windows that my mom had smashed. So we arrived at the second fishing spot. We had to cross railroad tracks, walk through bushes, and climb rocks just to start fishing. we had to sit out in the fiercely hot sun with no food or drinks. After a few hours we finally got ready to go, there were no bathrooms so we had to "go" in the bushes. By the time we reached the railroad tracks a train was coming so we had to wait 15 minutes for the train to pass by. When we got back to the truck a can of Hawaiian Punch I brought with me was literally burning hot so I couldn't drink that. I have never been happier to be home. The worst part, after all of that, I didn't even catch any fish!

Last summer has made me despise connecting flights.

We were going to Las Vegas, but it was almost $300 cheaper for my mom, sister and I just to fly to San Fransisco then fly to Las Vegas, added about 2 hours to the total trip, but saving that much money was worth it. BUUT we left almost 3 hours late from Philadelphia, so we got to San Fransisco literally 30 seconds after our next flight left the terminal. So we couldn't board on the runway. But then to make it worse, we found out the SF airport closes at night, so we were stuck in the airport for 6 hours with absolutely NOTHING open, no vending machines, nothing!! And it was absolutely freezing in there! My sister and I ended up curled up under empty trashbags that we stole from the janitor's cart and newspapers on a bench in the foodcourt until they opened in the morning. We also couldn't get a refund for the night we missed on the room we had already paid for in LV. At least they didn't give it away when we didn't show up. That would have really sucked.

As if that wasn't bad enough. Coming back home the next week, we were supposed to fly from Las Vegas to Chicago then Chicago to Philly, but my mom misread the ticket. We thought our flight was at 11 pm, but it turned out to be 9 pm, so we missed it entirely by 2 hours. We got to the airport finally and they told us that there weren't any other flights going to the northeast til the next morning. So again, we were stuck in the airport overnight til we could get a flight to Charlotte, North Carolina and then to Philly at 5am. It was horrible!!!!

Our time IN Las Vegas was nice, but it was over 110ºF the whole time. Even at night it was in the upper 90s. We all got soooo burnt. And I was already burnt from the Live 8 concert in Philly the week before so I was peeling all over the place and was all sore.

I went to LA with my sister one time, and when we got there, and were trying to rent a car, her credit card was declined so we ended up having to take the bus around with all our luggage. Thank god we pre-paid for the room. Since with didn't have a car, we couldn't really go anywhere, so we had to walk to some ghetto grocery store down the street from our hotel and get food. For the next few days, we sat in our hotel room eating oreos and california rolls and watching the Selena movie over and over again on TNT.

ok we went on a cruise to alaska and we went to go have breakfast. Ok i was just about to go get food from my table when a man with hot chocolate, whip cream, chocolate chips, and jucie for his family spitl on me. I also had a white shirt on too, so it was double embarrassment. Then once i got up to my room i took my shirt off to change and the cleaning lady was there. Well I had just a blast that day!!!

Well, I guess that would be all of our school breaks, because we never go ANYWHERE! However, once in 2000, me and my sister flew to Texas and we went to the zoo there, and also Six Flags. That was fun.
