I was thinking about a sniper rifle and baby Hitler the other day...but...
If there was no Holocaust, we might not know what to look for today, and we might have a major anti-semitism problem, and tyranny might even be more prevalent without the lessons learned in WWII.
I also fantasize about fixing my mistakes in life, but they made me what I am today, a better human being than I would be if I hadn't learned from them.
History made us what we are today. Any change of even the rotten parts may change what we are for the worse.

I would love to go back and change history - but the odds are that one person claiming to know the future won't cut it and people wouldn't listen. If by chance they did listen it would be great and I guess taking a chance wouldn't be so bad.
Certainly getting rid of the holocaust or at least cutting it short would be well worth all the effort. Not to mention all the other injustices that have occurred. Warning people about the dangers of hiv before it became an epidemic would be another thing to do. We have history so we don't repeat it, but the history we have has certainly affected us all in one way or another - either positively or negatively. It would be nice to get rid of as much of the negatives as possible.

I'd have enough knowledge to know that going into history would change the present, so I wouldn't go unless it was the immediate history, in which case the only thing that would change would be the future since there would not be enough time for anything significant to happen in the short period of time between the present and the point in history that I traveled to.

If they ever discover time travel and are looking for volunteers , I would be among the first in line, but it would probably be more practical to go back and try to change my own history. I would use the knowledge I have now to avoid mistakes I've made and hopefully become a smarter, better, and happier person then I am today.

Yes, I would go back about 22 years and change everything I did that year. I know that it would change my life and make the now even better than it is....

Do you believe you can take over the world and change it and make it better? I do not believe it can be done. The World is perfect, change it and you destroy it.
