there are several solutions.
1: Scare tactics. Show him pictures of what a smokers lung looks like. Compare it to a picture of a healthy non smokers lung.
2. If he just started his body should start rejecting it if you make him scale back on smoking. Make him take lots of anti oxidants and vitamins.
3. Hypnosis.
4. or a good one would be to threaten his co-worker with a lawsuit if he continues to encourage him to smoke.

Friend
We get into a habit easily and then the habit controls us.... once it becomes a habit, it destroys our Will Power
There are numerous web sites offering help in a professional manner..... there must be some help you could get in your town as well
I have tried to find some helpful websites for you
Hope your husband soon gets rid of this habit and finds importance of health and happiness
http://www.nicotine-anonymous.org/...
https://www.stopsmoking.ucsf.edu/index.a...
http://www.quit-smoking-guide.com/quit-s...
http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/how2quit.htm...
http://www.ash.org.uk/html/factsheets/ht...
.
I found 12 useful TIPS
1--- Get professional help
2--- Prepare mentally
3--- Understand what to expect… Most people find the first few days difficult and for some it can be a long struggle, but things will typically start to get better after the third or fourth day. Nicotine withdrawal may make you restless, irritable, frustrated, sleepless, or accident prone - but these things will pass and you will quickly start to feel the benefits.
4--- Make a list of reasons why you want to stop smoking
5--- Consider the money spent on smoking
6--- Set a date… Some people make a New Year’s Day resolution, others pick their birthday
7--- Involve friends or family… If you live with someone else who smokes, it will be much easier to quit if you do it together.
8--- Deal with nicotine withdrawal.... you can roughly double the chances of successfully quitting smoking by using nicotine replacement therapies such as patches, lozenges, inhalers, and/or gum. The idea is to come off nicotine gradually by using a low nicotine dose to take the edge off the cravings
9--- Other treatments may help… Hypnosis, acupuncture or other treatments
10--- Find a (temporary) substitute habit…It might be an idea to use chewing gum, drink more water, fruit juice or tea, or to chew or eat something
11--- Avoid temptation… In the difficult first few days you can change your routine to avoid situations where you would usually smoke.
12--- Watch out for relapse… You will need to be on your guard especially in the first few days and weeks...You could lose everything you've achieved just in a momentary lapse.

Tell him flat out (he is your husband anyway) that you don't want your clothes, car and home smelling like smoke and he will have to smoke outside. If he continues, tell him that you are worried for his health and you can help him quit because you love him and don't want anything to happen to him.

you could talk the problems out with your husband and try therapy and or , acupuncture. Then you could tell your husband that he did n't need to start smoking because of a coworker... please that is so helpless. Anyway you could talk the problems out. That is what i would do.

Any means necessary, From my point of view my dad always smoked in the house and all of his kids (me too) still get more than our fair share of colds and such.

Just tell him, confront his family and friends you trust, and dump him if it's completely hopeless.[ SEX, mustn't forget.]
