He said nothing to him;he was talking to the official - appealing for a red card for Rooney cowardly act of stepping on Carvalho groin. If anything he said I'm not talking to you. Rooney is responsible for his own bad temper and wrong actions. It might have cost England the win.

i now this is not the answer to the question but Rooney didn't get sent off for the stamp it was for the push on ronaldo
u can tell because the ref was doing nothing right after the stamp he knew it was accidental but it was after Rooney's push that he pulled him aside and sent him off
anyway back to the question i think it was only a friendly gustier because Rooney smiled after it

idk, but I hope Rooney decks Ronaldo when he gets back to England. And in my personal opinion, Rooney didn't meant to step on the guy's keg, I mean, it's not like he's looking where he's stepping. Would you do that on the soccer field if you're trying to win the ball? Didn't think so.
