if you download a song for free you could legally be tried so the best thing to do would be go to a site such as mtv.com and go to the music section find the song and then buy it for less than a dollar.(you will have to fill out a form and have a credit card number)

Also, on filesharing systems the quality of each song is oftentimes usually compromised because it's copied or shared (Notice that sometimes a song skips, is corrupted, etc.). What's worse, you can get nasty computer viruses and spyware from these shared files!
There are legal ways of getting music that don't cost a lot either. I subscribe to Yahoo Music Unlimited and it's awesome (it only costs about $5/month)! I have access to probably a million legal, great quality music. Check that out, along with the website above.
Personally, I like to support the artists that I like so that they can further their career. I wouldn't want to steal their music that they've put time and effort into.
