I also live in central Iowa and I really enjoy the bike trails. The state is connecting many of the bike trails to form one large trail, very beautiful along the river and many other scenic views. Also there is the Science Center in Des Moines if that would interest you. There have been multiple new Aquatic Centers built in Iowa, even in smaller towns like Conrad, Marshalltown, etc. White Water University is fun too. Really isn't that bad of a place, isn't just corn and cows like everyone thinks

The terrain right that's no longer that large, yet there are some runs with 500-foot elevation interior the Midwest. attempt sunset Mountain, Dubuque, IA or Chestnut Mountain, Galena, IL. Chestnut has a reasonably super terrain park, and the two have reliable environment. Having never snowboarded, i'm undecided the variety you're "intermediate" ability will jibe with those, yet they're in all threat reliable for an afternoon or 2 of exciting.

I am in southern Iowa small city where they roll the streets up before dark. LOL So there's not much excitement around here.

What's that? Geez. It's when you go out at night and push a cow over that's sleeping. Now you've got plenty to do!

Well, ummmmmm, You could take a hike, or watch some of the farm things to do. You could go horse back riding, or cow tipping!
