You sound like you have a bug, try some software like spybot and you can get that at downloads.com. That has happened to me before and that programed helped.

Weird.

Start > Setting > Control Panel > Internet Options - You'll see a place at the top where you can change your home page. Type in http://www.yahoo.com and hit apply at the bottom. Done.

I've never heard of a virus doing that. Is it possible someone changed it by accident?

Edited to add: I'm just going to shut up now. Apparently, I missed the memo on this one. The person below knows what they're talking about ...

That happened to my computer. Could not get the changes to save and I tried everything.
A few weeks later, I could no longer even get onto the Internet. Turns out that the network driver failed and had to be reinstalled. Not sure if they are related but now it works fine.

What to do is to add blank to your firewall blocker and block it out, then change your homepage to anything you want

you have a desktop.htt variant virus, goto http://housecall.trendmicro.com to fix it, you can remove it manually, but it could have self copy from several places, go to trendmicro and fix it with the online antivirus.

it's a kind of spyware. with a good anti spyware you can get rid of it.
