I went with a lowortho & it still was too much for me. So, I just have my husband use a condom.

Their are several different kinds of birth control that aren't pills. The first, and only one that is 100% safe, is not having sex. The other types are pills, the Nuvaring (which I swear by), shots, an IUD, condoms, diaphragms, cervical caps, Lea's Shield, sponges, and spermicides. I have heard of Seasonale (spelling???) which limits your periods to every 3-4 months. All of the hormonal methods (pills, ring, shot, patch, an IUD) work the same, but have different amounts of the hormones. Talk to your doctor about your many options and discuss your concerns with him. Good luck!

It would have to depend on what you want. You have longterm and short-term contraception. If you want longterm, try implantable birth control. If you want to get pregnant again, just have the doctor remove the implants. If you want very short term, consider morning after pill. Remember that all forms of contraception are not 100% and there are always some side effects associated with them.

About your reasons to take the pill you should talk with your gyn. It depends on your age and some other factors. Ask your doctor about Yazmin.

I just switched from OrthoLo to Yasmin and I love it. You get shorter periods and the cramps are very minimal.

Most of them do basically the same thing. request the lowest possible dose, and when you get your prescription, ask for generic which will be a lot cheaper.
