No gay person still remains in the closet. Today, the media celebrates gays as superheroes and they themselves have organized their political power to such an extent that they are the Chosen Ones and everybody else is weird, wrong and funny.

we were just talking about gender identity in my grad class and my prof said something like 1 in 9 people are gay. going on that statistic, there are tons of people in the closet

Lots and lots and lots.....and lots never come out of the closet ..not even to their wives and children....I'm 57...can't tell you how many times I've been involved with married men.
