You know in songs like Bow Wow's "Shorty Like Mine" , in some TLC like "No Scrubs" and in plenty of other hip-hop kind of music they refer to "shorty" alot. What the heck does this word mean?
I live in rural Canada and here, a shorty is the back of a pick-up truck! I thought that's what it meant in these songs but then I wondered if it meant a joint, a rear-end or a cool car? Does anyone know for sure?

It has two meaning. The first is a woman. This is not a polite way to refer to a woman! Specifically, it is refering to a woman who is short, because she is on her knees sucking your cock.
The other meaning for a shorty is a shotgun. A reference to a gun being like a lady etc. However, the reference here isn't at all romantic. It implies a weapon used to commit murder.
Other related meanings.....a cigarette or joint....a man's penis....related to the above.
