Take a wide range of courses and keep your mind & eyes open.
Basic courses needed in business or other professional careers are a must but remember you will do your best in an area you truly love.
Good luck!

First of all, it has to be something that you would really enjoy doing. You don't want to get stuck in a lifetime profession only to find out you hate going to work everyday. For me, when I decided, I thought about what I would love to do, which was to help other people. Also, I looked at how much money I could make, availability and job security. Therefore, I choose nursing. Now I can get a job pretty much anywhere making good money. The only bad thing about it is, sometimes the hours aren't so good. The medical field isn't for everybody though. I just use it for an example because it's what I do. But most importantly I think, whatever you do, you have to decide on something you like to do and that you can make a good living at, then gear the courses you take to obtain your goal. For example, if you wanted to get into the medical profession, you would need the sciences etc..If I were you, I would concentrate on the basic courses the first year while you decide, you know, english comp, speech, math, etc...Sometimes I wish I had chosen teaching, because I love kids. Teachers don't make a lot of money, but it's a decent living and I think it would be so fullfilling. Plus they get off summers! Or maybe a degree in business or banking. There's just so many options. Pick something that you know you will always have a job and that you will enjoy. I think those are the main things to think about, then find out what you need to take to obtain your goal. I hope my advice helps. I wish you the best of luck in your education and in your future life much happiness. God bless..

Ask yourself, what are my strong points?, What am I gifted in?. Then aim towards studies that will compliment your interest. It's commendable to consider higher education even though you are not certain about a career. General studies will keep you busy until you decide. Assuming that you are a recent graduate, If you were my young person, I would be happy to help support your effort as long as you seriously wanted to do something positive with your life. On the flip side, if you find that a college or university is not for you. Believe me, the early campus experience can still be beneficial in whatever else you decide. Good luck.

a really good choice combinig two career fields into one,if you like and are good with numbers and/or law, I suggest as I did; a paralegal with a accounting background to do lagal tax/law research for big companies, there is a huge demand for such. I have only a certificate in such as I have a BA in social-pyschology and am making 80 g + just out of school good luck

keep your options open and do subjects you like and think you will be good at
the higher your grade averages the better your chances of getting accepted into a more directed course later on when you know what you want to do!!!
dont worry about not knowing - some of the best achievers never knew!!!

I would take your basic (required) courses and really take the first year to explore various subjects. You might be inspired by one of your courses and want to take more classes in that field. And never be afraid to change majors either! It's okay not to know at this point.
