WHERE IS YOUR PLACENTA? ANTERIOR OR POSTERIOR
if you placenta is low lying and at the front yes there is increased risk
if your placenta is low lying and at the back this risk is clearly less

yes they bleed more but if your dr is well set up with his anaethetist there to support him this will not be a problem for you at all. They can have blood on stand by, drugs to contract your uterus to minimize bleeding and also artificial blood products as well
It is far more risky to have a vaginal birth

From what I understand it is normal to have a c-section if you have a low lying placenta (blocking the cervix) since if you go into labor and try to deliver vaginally the placenta would come out first and that would be extremely harmful for the baby.

Yes, this was just on Birth Day the other day... :) The low placenta would have to be cut through and that means much more blood loss for mom and baby. Doc's are usually prepared though since they know what their in for before starting the procedure.
