If someone refuses to date outside their race, would you consider that racist or a personal preference?

personal reference, some ppl know what they want. I know ppl who will only date their race and others who will only date outside their race. Some ppl just dont want to have an interracial relationship, and one reason is because of the way others will view them. As long as someone doesnt think their race is superior and/or have a strong hatred of another race. Then it isnt racist!

personal preference would be not dating someone outside your race because you haven't found a person of a different race you're interested in or like enough to date. now *refusing* to date outside your race, on the other hand, seems awfully racist to me. the perfect person for you might well have a different skin colour but you'd never be with them because of it.

That's not racist, that's just personal preference. Just because you're not attracted to someone of a different race doesn't mean that you hold hatred for people of that race.

Personal preference.
Unless of course it's because of a racist reason. Personally I've only ever had the chance to date one girl that wasn't white and she became one of my best friends in the long run.

In short; it all depends on the person in question. But no, it's not overtly racist.

good question. I think personal preference. it's not that i hate other races, i personally prefer to stay within my own race. not that theres anything wrong with interracial couples. I can get a long fine with virtually every race as long as i am not dating them, so i believe its personal preference.

That is there decision,as long as they said nothing demeaning to the race it would be called a personal preference.for example my parents would not let me date other races
it didn't matter to me the color of skin but the personality which is all that should matter.
it really depends on the person.
