why are so many blacks concerned what white people think of them?

If the black community would focuse on its own problems, such as drugs, murder, theft, and just plain stupidity and laziness, they wouldn't have to worry about what others think.

Don't get me wrong, i'm not a racist. just fed up. I work for an orginazation that provides housing to needy people, most of them black. It just sickens me to try and do good things and it gets abused and thrown back in your face. As for the Katrina area, we have currently built 200+ homes there for these people and will have 2000 completed in the next few years. I believe that all these people are deserving of what they recieve, but there ar still those out there that want to take advantage of these services. How bout those that reported homes damaged, but didn't even live in the area? just venting here.

NEWSFLASH: There are plenty of Blacks who are focused on bringing about social change and unity within the Black communities. I find it appalling that you would make such an ignorant generalization about Black people. One thing that I do feel that you should remind yourself of is that you have interacted with only a small faction of the Black population. Whereas I am more than sure that you have experienced many of the things that you have described above --hey, I have myself--you cannot take that experience and conclude that most Black people behave and/or carry themselves in the same manner.

(By the way, just as SOME Black people take it upon themselves to cheat the system, so do SOME Whites, Asians, Hispanics...hey I could go on and on. Don't limit such bad deeds to just one group please! No, I'll go one step further and say that you should not target any particular group at all. In other words, BAD PEOPLE who lack morals do BAD things--period!)

Okay I’m white. First off I’m not racist either, so don't think I am. But every race wants to think they are the best, no matter what that race might be. And second off you should not stereo type so badly. Okay so there are some blacks that are like you described them. I'll give you that, but they are not the only race that would match that description!!! In fact I think if you looked hard enough you could find at least one person from each race that had those same characteristics. So you should not stereotype!!! Or if you do then you need to think before you type!!!!!!! Sorry If I sound rude, I am not usually. But this is one of my pet peeves. I hate it when people stereotype!!!!

Blaming is a common practice with people of any color...even whites. For many in depressed socio-economic classes, it is too difficult to take charge and be responsible while bringing change into ones life and much easier to place blame on others for their real or perceived suffering. Ignorance is common here. The aftermath of hurricane katrina in New Orleans is an example of blaming.

its cause they are more prejudice than white people, they still think we owe them something. In all actuality i'd say we are even now. if it wasn't for us they would be still in poverty living in africa. and besides it was the Africans that sold there own kids for glass, to be slaves. shouldn't they be more mad at them?

MOSTLY BECAUSE THE GOVT KNEW ABOUT THE KATRINA AND DID NOTHING UNTIL IT HAPPENED AND WHEN IT HAPPENED, THE FIRST PEOPLE THAT THEY HELPED WERE WHITE PEOPLE. WHAT DO U THINK
