Never. In fact, since 1945 there has been officially 7 weeks without a conflict between nations. Pretty sad, isn't it?

Oh, certainly. There are other ways to settle things. Economic solutions, for example; the border is established by one side purchasing the disputed territory from the other side, or they trade pieces in dispute, or draw the line down the middle. I won't say it's been done often without even the THREAT of war, however . . .

Perhaps back in the days when an exchange of princesses was enough to make them friends. Princess A becomes Queen of B, and Princess B becomes Queen of A, and everybody's happy!
