Both parents have heterogeneous genotypes. Each carries one allele for attached and one allele for unattached earlobes. The dominant allele for the unattached ear lobes masks the attached ear lobe allele, thus the parents have unattached ear lobes. But they have each passed the recessive allele for attached ear lobes to their two children so their children have attached lobes.

RrRr, where R is unattached and r is attached. If each parent passes down the r to their children, the child will have attached ear lobes.

Both of your parents are probably carring a gene for unattached ear lobes and a gene for attached earlobes. Everyone has two sets of genes for each trait, one from the father and one for the mother. If you inhereted the attached earlobe gene from both parents and not the attached earlobe gene from either, then your earlobes will be attached.

To get a genotype, I need to get a genetic map prepared for each of my parents ... then one of myself to see which genes were carried over (and expressed) from which parent.

your parents have to be Uu because the only way to get attached would be to have 2 recessive alleles

do you mean genotype...if so, I have no idea what the genetic makeup of my parents is.
if you mean phenotype (which is what it sounds like you want)...I really don't think I can name all the physical characteristics of my parents.
I think I read this question wrong...but you've got some really good answers below...so go with one of those :)
