OK, i am going to go on vacation in a couple of day's and were going to a beach and my stomach hurtz a lot and i've been gettin lot's of painfull cramps!!!! i think i'll be getting my period soon!!! and if i get while im on my vacation my mom said i can't go in the water!!!!!!!! my question is WHY!???

if you use a tampon, your FINE. and if you go in the ocean sharks cant smell blood inside of you, duh to previous poster

First of all ask your mom why she said you can't go in the water. Second, wear a tampon for swimming, remove it immediately after swimming and replace with a new one or a pad. Just remember not to leave your tampon in for longer than eight hours. And always remove it right after swimming so you don't end up with an infection. Other than that you can still go swimming while you are on your period. Oh, one more thing, cold water slows down the blood flow.

According to the beach you are going to. Some beach's suggest that women on there period not get in the water because of the wildlife. If this is the case get into the pool instead. It is not the end of the world. If not it may just be something that your mom believes. Either way do what your mom says.

Okay, ask your mother if you can try tampons. She might not want you using tampons yet, though, and that's why she said you can't go in the water. Just take a deep breath and say, "Mom, when we go on our vacation I am expecting my period, ya know? And you told me I can't swim if I'm on my period.. but what if I try tampons? Because you can wear those in the water.."

You can as long as you wear a tampon... I am not sure why your mother would say that. Unless she doesnt want you wearing a tampon.
