Not bloody likely!
Yes, there are rednecks here, just like any other state in the USA. But there are also educated caring productive people. (not that some of the rednecks aren't educated, lol!)
Stereotypes and generalizations are for the unenlightened.

No! we are all here for a purpose and I don't like labels put on people We can't all be Bill Gates and we can't all go down into the mines. That doesn't mean one person has more value than another. I'm not sure what the word "hick" really means. I assume it implies a person who is local and does what the locals do.

Please do not abbreviate or initialize us to death unless you intend to provide us with the Rosetta stone that will help us in the translation of this or any other question you may have. So many initials and they can stand for different words at different times for other people. We all have been LOL to death that most of us know what it means but then maybe it can stand for -Land Of Luck. PS (translation-Post Script)(an after thought) there are hicks in all states; but then that is open to interpretation; what is Your definition of a hick?

No they are not HICKS! Some of them hold on to old traditional values that current society finds to be backwards but that odes not make them Hicks.
