No he is the secular Samson. Most cultures have a heroic male figure with superhuman strength. In the Old Testament of the Jewish faith it was Samson. You might remember the secret to his strength was his long hair. When an evil woman betrayed him and his hair was cut off he lost all of his strength. For the Greeks it was Hercules. For our modern times it is Superman. There are a lot of similarities in all of these characters. On the other hand Jesus Christ never exibited super strength, nor a hidden weakness for that matter. Jesus the Christ is a messiah figure and should not be confused with the figures representing strength.

In DC Comics, it says that Superman will never kill anyone, but I'm sure he has stepped on an ant here or there, and he has killed germs there is no avoiding it. There are flaws in all works of fiction and the bible is no exception. At least with DC Comics, the authors sign the comic books and you can communicate with them even as fan mail.

I don't think so. I'm a pretty secular person, and...I hate Superman. Batman is cooler, unibrows look like the bat-symbol.
