I have boy/girl twins that are 12 and going into the 7th grade. My daughter has started wearing glittery eye shadow, lipgloss, and on occasion eyeliner the last couple of months.
I don't wear makeup and never really have so I didn't even give her ever wanting to wear it any thought. When she asked me if she could I told her that if it looked ok, and she didn't over-do it then it would be fine. She puts it on very lightly and I've never had a problem yet with her wearing it.

let her wear what she wants @ that age no ones going to think ur r a little hoe for wearing makeup!shes bound to want to play in it some.
i disagree with an earlier comment that 7th graders are children, most are 13 to 14 years old and though they are still somewhat immature, they have to deal witht the daily hassle of accepting and loving themselves, not to mention having other peopel accept them!
i dont wear makeup because im really just to lazy to put it on everyday, but my friends wear makeup and it looks very nice.

No, I think it's ridiculous. Save makeup for high school. 7th graders are still children. They need to act like children.

Yes, if they want to. I wore makeup in 7th grade, as well as a lot of girls (and some guys.) Just use a QUALITY brand of makeup, and apply it tastefully. Not too much, and don't make it look trashy. I reccomend alamy or bare minerals for makeup. Clinique is also good.

If she wants to wear a small amount let her, but don't let her get carried away. Also ask her teacher if it's acceptable, so that you know if other kids are wearing it.
A few things to remember, keep very neutral colors, and don't let her bring them with her to school, they will distract her. Tell her she can try two or three different things (different things that you preapprove, or present to her that is). Keep it simple, but let her have a little fun, and if she wants to go crazy help her plan a sleep over with friends and go makeover crazy, just make sure it all will wash off for work/school the next day!
Good luck!

In my opinion, I think it's OK for girls of your age to be wearing very light, hardly noticeable makeup. Maybe a little tinted lip gloss, some very light eyeshadow and maybe a little bit of foundation to cover any blemishes or problem areas. I do encourage you to be yourself and experiment - but DO NOT go overboard. In 7th grade, you shouldn't be focusing on your looks, but trying to further your education so you can get further in life. Looks aren't everything. Trust me.

i started when i was in 7th grade & i wish i had waited(wow i sound like i'm talking about sex). makeup starts a very viscious circle. before you start your skin is radient & blemish free, but then you want to look older so you start wearing makeup. & then...YAY PIMPLE CITY BABY!!!if you want to wear make up, then use stuff like mascara, a little eyeshadow(nothing drastic, just something that'll enhance your eye color), lipgloss, & maybe a little blush. DON'T USE FOUNDATION, CONCEALER, POWDER, ETC. that is what causes acne. and always wash your face before you go to bed. when you start developing acne from hormones, or just oily skin in general, then you could start using concealer & all that junk. but once you start, you can't stop. i'm trying to get to the point where i don't have to wear makeup anymore, but its taking me a long time, so wait

you can, but not to much because at that age you will get a horrible reputation, and you dont want that, just wear a little gloss, eye shadow, and maybe mascara, also you should ask your parents first, because they may not accept the fact that you wear makeup that young, i onlystarted wearing makeup in grade 9
