I think the ref did the right thing. If i got kicked in the balls i would like that fool to get red carded, because if didnt then i would certainly be looking for a way to get him back

So just because Rooney cannot control his temper tantrums, other players should allow him to get away with a cheap crotch shot? If Rooney is going to lose his cool, he has to be willing to face the consquences. He has been out of control, more so than ever before. I wish he would control his temper--or his talent is totally wasted. No matter how good he is, no one will want a loose cannon on their team (ie, he's a great player--but of no use to a national team in the WC if he is red-carded and unable to play).
How could you even suggest that Portugal cheated on that call? Did Ronaldo force Rooney's cleat on another player's groin? Sorry--I didn't see anyone holding Rooney's foot--that was a choice made by Rooney, all by himself. And a bad choice at that.

Portugal has not lost in the world cup qualifications and u must be a England fan that is still sobbing and can't take it that Portugal is going to win it all and Rooney deserved what he got. Face it when you got the best goalie in the world (Ricardo) he Will fly to the precious world cup trophy.You can put Portugal down all you want but they are the better team by far.(14-03-00) this is why they are they best.

it doesnt even matter now..portugal won and that what counts.. anyways portugals not playing italy next its france..and they really didnt do ANYTHING to win except play well. i think rooney deserves the red card.. he hurt the other playerr.. and that looks like it must have hurt a lott and then once he got the red card he had to be such a sissy and complained the whole time.. so stop blaming cristiano..rooney did deserved it

Ronaldo was arguing with the ref to keep rooney on not kick him out and that stuff. The referees this tournament are quite stupid and arent looking at the whole picture. I oculd name so many matches were the referees did major mistakes.

Listen, premiership leagues and the world cup are two totally seperate things. Yes they are both soccer. However, one is playing for money, and the other is representing your country. SO, yea, Ronaldo did the right thing to argue against his manchester utd team-mate. He chose his country before money and his premier-ship team.

i sooo agree with you! everyone thinks we're just bad losers but ronaldo (fit as he maybe) was totally out of order - i reckon rooney should stick one on him when he gets bk to man u - i would! he's used his friendship and knowledge of rooneys personality against him! I hope england decide to treat ronaldo as they did beckham in 1998 instead of using rooney as the reason for our loss! if it wasn't for ronaldo rooney would of stayed on and who knows that could of been an extra penalty for us?? the ref seemed to be on there side aswell... cheating bastards i hope they lose miserably to france.!
